Mary Mirto

Mary Mirto, D.O. has practiced in Austin since 2002. She received her medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, and after finishing her time with the Army, moved to Austin where she was in private practice for 13 years. After closing her practice, she joined OBGYN North in 2015. She enjoys working with midwives and knows the advantages that a collaborative practice of doctors and midwives can offer women.

Dr. Mirto believes in a holistic and integrative approach to care. She has studied Integrative Medicine with an emphasis on Nutrition and how to incorporate alternative therapies such as Acupuncture, body work and herbs into treatment plans. She believes being healthy is more than not being sick. This is especially true for women after pregnancy and during the transition through menopause. Her special interests include the use of traditional medications and alternative therapies for menopausal issues and helping women improve their health through good daily self care choices.

Dr. Mirto is married and has two daughters. She lives with her husband, one daughter, a cat and two very spoiled dogs here in Austin. Her eldest daughter is a student at Texas A & M University. She loves live music, good food and spending time with friends and family.
