Additional Information

Our Labor & Delivery Practices

You probably have many questions related to our usual management of labor and delivery. We have put together this list of how we manage normal labor and birth based on our non interventionist philosophy. While these are standard practices for all of our providers, many factors could change the management of your particular situation.

Please take into consideration that these are ideals and complications may change how we approach your specific care.

Natural Ways to Encourage Labor

Your baby will come out when s/he is ready and some just like to take their time. But if an induction date and medical intervention is looming, you might feel like you want to give him/her a gentle nudge.

Doulas in Austin

A doula is a person who accompanies a woman in labor and mothers the mother, taking care of her emotional needs throughout childbirth. A doula also provides support and suggestions for partners that can enhance their experiences of birth. A postpartum doula continues that valuable emotional support and guidance, helping a family make a smooth transition into new family dynamics.
